  • WATER SOLDIER INVASION. Our waterways are being further congested by another invasive species, Water Soldier. You do not want to swim in its presence! It looks very similar to an Aloe vera plant or the top of a Pineapple. Watch for it and pull it out! For current information about this species, click here.

  • The Kawartha Field Naturalists is one of the groups spearheading the development of a local food charter. The food charter deals with environmental concerns which are consistent with those expressed by the KFN. A very important step in the development of this charter, occurring on February 25, 2010, is the visioning day. This affords the opportunity for YOUR input as to how the final charter will read.
